CASE STUDY - LEADERSHIP & TALENT ASSESSMENT
Vermilion Road worked with a large global energy company in order to assess a cohort of newly promoted Executive Vice Presidents in a range of functions. These people were already very accomplished leaders, with their new roles having vast accountability. It was also very difficult to get time in their calendars, so techniques such as Development Centres were not feasible. The solution was to implement a live 360-degree appraisal process. This was a logistically complex task, arranging teleconference meetings with raters many of whom were on different time zones, and with limited availability as many of the line managers were members of the main board of the organisation. This also involved calling on our international network of highly experienced consultants, although the overall project was co-ordinated from the UK. The data collected provided powerful, qualitative feedback, with “in the moment” development suggestions from our coaches and the participants’ line managers, followed by on-going coaching when requested.
The feedback provided was so useful that 85% of participants asked for follow-up coaching.
